Swimming day

I thought that Bull terriers were unable to swim! ...no that is not true, but it is hard to imagine a strong dog (that looks like a huge cannon bullet) actually being swimming!

Today has been the day when Asta made her first swimming tour! It was not that easy though... first she did not even want to go into the water. Then she went out into the water but I had to call her and make fanny noises (I am glad no one saw or heard me!).

After a while I decided to carry out Asta with me and then put her gently down into the water so she had to swim a few metres before reaching land. Then we could both walk newly bathed back home again!

Can you guess in what direction we can find land (according to the photo)?!

Photos From Today's Action

It has been a beautiful day today. Not much sun, but still a nice day with a lot of heat. Asta has been together with her "sister" Disa (who is a Golden retriever female) a lot. They have been playing and have had a great time. I just had to take some pictures to show you (it was much cuter to watch IRL though... MUCH cuter!).

Sometimes Asta was the bad guy...

...and sometimes she was not...

...some moments both of them looked evil...

...but you could always see a twinkle in their eyes!

Gummibullens Lizette Gulliver - Asta

Today, 14th of June, is her seventh month birthday! (Happy birthday darling!) Her birthday was the 14th of November 2005 and we brought her home at the 14th of January. It was a Saturday full of snow and we (mother, father and I) drove the whole way to Katrineholm where Asta and her relatives lived. To Katrineholm it is about 300 kilometres from our house in Klavreström. The trip did not feel that long though because I was very excited. This was the day I was going to be owner to a beautiful, three coloured Miniature bull terrier.

I had met Asta and her sisters once before I brought Asta home, so I knew very well how gorgeous they all were and how they looked. Asta was the first puppy to greet me when I visited them and I loved her already then. They were four in the litter, four bitches. One of them was white with a beautiful black nose and dark eyes and two of them were fawn, they were adorable as well.

When we came to the kennel Gummibullen two of the puppies had already gone (the white one and one of the fawned).

Asta was very small and chubby. She was very cute, but she farted a lot! We had a hard time driving home with her because of the stench. (Mum said that she had never wished for a Cabriolet before, but she did at that time!)

Asta was very cool when she first was put into our house. She checked every thing and sniffed at the cats and the other dogs properly. The other dogs thought that she was a freak! They could not even see wether she was a dog or not! Once again I have to say that she was so cute! This picture is from that particular day:

...but a puppy is not a puppy forever. Asta grew a lot bigger and then she decided to grow some more (which she also did!). This is how she lookes like now:

A big difference huh?

This was a short presentation of Asta, the most wonderful of all dogs I have ever met!
